My plans for the weekend

What I wish I were doing: seeing friends and getting high on wool fumes at Rhinebeck.

What I'll be doing instead: spending lots of quality time with This Beautiful Life, the October sock, my grandmother's afghan, high quality prescription drugs, and the remote.

And possibly some very Angry Birds.

This is because I had surgery on Wednesday. The timing could have been better re: going to Rhinebeck, but the surgery itself -- done to repair the damage done to my pelvic floor in childbirth -- was long overdue. Everything went well, and my family and friends are taking very good care of me.

So if you're looking for me over the next few days, this is where I'll be.



The best thing about Rhinebeck? There's always next year.
