Found and done

My Anna's Mittens (Ravelry link) project bag turned up after a completely preoccupying day-long search.

I was certain that WB was responsible for its disappearance, because I looked in every logical place, which left only the IL-logical spots.

Illogical is her bailiwick.

Combine that with the fact that every time I asked her where Mama's yarn went she A) giggled (I say it was an evil giggle, an objective observer may have called it mischievous. Potato/potahto) or B) helpfully showed me all sorts of yarn besides the stuff I was looking for (to be fair, that wasn't so much illogical as non-specific), I was left frustrated and almost 100% certain that she had, indeed, relocated my project bag during the time it took me to run her brother out to the school bus. I had to admit the possibility that I had moved it myself, in order to keep her from sabotaging my mittens-in-progress, but if that were the case, surely I would remember where it had gone. I am not THAT spacy.

At least, that's what I told myself as the day wore on and the bag stayed stubbornly hidden from view.

By late afternoon I was desperate enough to offer a monetary reward for its recovery. This motivated Young'un far more than it did his older siblings, who are more aware of the purchasing power of a (single) dollar. In the end, the bag was discovered on top of the kids' (read: short) bookcase in the family room by my neighbor, who had dropped by for a visit and cannot resist a challenge. This makes it more likely that I put it there myself, although it IS within WB's reach.

We will just never know.

At any rate, once I had my materials back, the mittens fairly flew off the needles. This is a great pattern. The colorwork on the cuff gives them an extra layer of warmth and helps them fit snugly, and the gansy stitching on the back of the hand is visually interesting without being terribly complicated to knit.

Tired of photographing my finished projects in my yard, I took these mittens out on the town in search of the perfect place for their beauty shot. Can anyone guess where I ended up?

Need another clue?

Taking pictures of mittens in the town graveyard, in the snow. Seems like a perfectly normal Saturday afternoon activity to me.
